In the dynamic landscape of electronics manufacturing, Mycronic aims to stand at the forefront of sustainable practices. Our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions aligns with the latest climate science and the Paris Agreement. As we strive to "Bring tomorrow's electronics to life," let's explore how Mycronic's science-based targets are shaping a greener future.

Approved targets

The Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) now has granted approval to Mycronic's two near-term science-based emissions reduction targets. These targets are rooted in scientific rigor and align with the Paris Agreement's objective of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. By embracing science-based targets, Mycronic demonstrates its commitment to responsible business practices and climate action.

Our near-term science-based emissions reduction targets

Mycronic's vision translates into actionable targets:

· Mycronic aims to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 56% to 2030, using a 2022 base year. These emissions originate from energy used at our facilities and from company-owned cars.

· Our commitment goes further. We pledge to reduce scope 3 emissions associated with the use of our products sold. Specifically, we aim for a 52% reduction per SEK value added* within the same timeframe.

Purposeful innovation

Mycronic recognizes that our greatest impact lies in the use of our products, which accounts for 80 percent of our total emissions. By addressing this critical area, we actively contribute to a more sustainable electronics industry. Our purposeful innovation focuses on creating products that minimize environmental impact while meeting customer needs. Through continuous improvement, we strive to reduce emissions throughout the product lifecycle.

Important collaboration with customers

Mycronic collaborates with customers, developing products and solutions that empower them to limit their climate impact. By providing energy-efficient and sustainable options, we support the broader industry in its transition towards a greener future. Together, we can drive positive change.

The Science Based Targets initiative

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis.

The initiative develops standards, tools and guidance which allow companies to set greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions targets in line with what is needed to keep global heating below catastrophic levels and reach net-zero by 2050 at the latest.

The SBTi partners are CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the We Mean Business Coalition, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
